What we collect
Account data (name, email, password hash), the career profile and resumes you add, applications you track, and product usage needed to run fair-use limits (for example AI generation counts). We collect what you give us to run your job search, nothing hidden.
How we use it
To run the product: generating the documents you ask for, matching you to roles, tracking your applications, and sending transactional email (verification, resets, interview notices) from signal@backpropengineering.com. We do not sell your data and we do not send marketing email without asking first.
Who processes it
Infrastructure we use to run the service: Vercel (hosting), Neon (database), OpenAI (AI generation of resumes and letters you request), Resend (email), and RapidAPI/JSearch (job listings; your profile is never sent there). Each receives only what its function needs.
The browser extension
The extension runs only on job-application pages you open, fills forms from your Signal profile when you click, and records the applications you choose to track. It does not browse for you or collect your history.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays while your account is active. Email backpropengineering@gmail.com from your account address to delete your account and its content; we remove personal data within 30 days, keeping only billing-grade aggregates that identify no one.
