Terms of Service

1. The service

Signal is a job-search platform operated by BackProp Engineering: AI resume and cover-letter tools, a job board aggregated from public sources, application tracking, and a browser extension that helps you fill job applications. The service is currently in early access, so features can change and fair-use limits apply to AI features.

2. Your account

You need an account with a valid email address to use the app. You are responsible for your credentials and for what happens under your account. You must be legally able to enter this agreement and use the service only for your own job search or, for team workspaces, your organization's recruiting work.

3. Your content

Resumes, profiles, and applications you create remain yours. You give us the permission needed to store and process them to run the service, including sending resume content to our AI provider (OpenAI) to generate documents you ask for. We never sell your content.

4. Acceptable use

No scraping, bulk-automated account creation, reselling, probing, or using the service to spam employers. Job postings come from third-party sources; apply responsibly and verify details with the employer. We can suspend accounts that abuse the service or its fair-use limits.

5. Third-party sites

Job listings link to external sites we do not control. The browser extension acts only on pages you open, on your instruction, and submits only what you review.

6. Disclaimers

The service is provided as-is during early access, without warranties. We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or the accuracy of third-party job listings. To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (currently zero during free early access).
